Program Director 2010 !

Hi, my name is Ryan Borenstein and this is my 5th summer on staff at Kadimah. I have been at camp since I was a Gibby and have moved up through all the sections. I spent my first 3 years on staff in Machar and waterfront, and last summer I had a great time on Tzofiut. This summer, we have some great new ideas for the camp programme and I can't wait to be back at The Corner with everyone.

See you soon in a couple of weeks !!

Canoe Director 2010 !

Ever since my early days as a young Macharnick, my sights have been set on holding the position of Canoe Director at Camp Kadimah . I started at Kadimah in 2003, and continued through CIT and Kadimah Israel. My father was a tripper in his camping days, and my older brother, Adrian, was the camp Canoe Director in 2006 – it seems that canoeing is in the Cohen’s genes! I am privileged to now share my passion, enthusiasm, and skills with the campers during peulah. I am completing my third year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree at McMaster University (DeGroote School of Business, and after graduation, hope to pursue a CA designation, coupled with an MBA degree.

I can't wait to see everyone at the most valued and popular peulah of the summer !

Jeffrey Kirshen is 90 stories tall and his adventures are legendary. He is a happy, easy going guy who doesn’t update his facebook status often enough. Jeff is returning to Kadimah for his second summer at the helm of the Ski Program and he can’t wait!

Hi, my name is Ari Unterman and I will be your Assistant-Head of Ski this summer. 2010 will be my 7th summer at camp Kadimah, and my 13th summer at overnight camp. For the past two summers, I was a Giborim bunk staff as well as a ski specialist. On the docks, my favourite activities are slalom skiing, knee boarding and of course, tubing. I'm currently finishing up my second year at the University of Western Ontario, specializing in Political Science, and am looking forward to working with all of you this summer and improving your skills in whatever facet of skiing or wakeboarding you'd like!

Sports Directors 2010 !

Sports Director- Zack Bordman
Over the past few years on staff, Zack has slowly worked his way up the ranks to take over the most valued position at Camp Kadimah: Landsports Director. As an avid Camp Kadimah enthusiast, Zack is looking forward to an excellent summer in the Ulam, on the Chairman’s Sports Field, and of course on the divine ground known as the Field of Dreams. A native of Toronto, Zack has spent the last 3 years studying Psychology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, and can’t wait for summer to teach a range of new sports to all those willing campers and to challenge the all of those seasoned Camp Kadimah athletes!

Assistant Sports Director- Josh Friedman
A Kadimah camper from 2002-2004, CIT in 2005, and staff member from 2007-2009, Josh Friedman is excited to join the Senior Staff for the summer 2010 as Assistant Sports Director! Bring your running shoes, sunhat, and water bottle cause its going to be an active summer this year at Camp Kadimah! Co-Waterfront Directors

My name is Daniel Rosenfeld and I will be running the waterfront at Kadimah this summer. This will be my 5th summer at Kadimah and my 2nd as head of waterfront. I am currently finishing my degree in Psychology at York University, and have 4 years of experience working as a lifeguard and swim instructor in Toronto. I look forward to seeing everyone down at the docks this summer, whether for level 5, bronze med, or just to soak up some of that rare Kadimah sun.

Ali Ciobotaru is a Camp Kadimah lifer! This summer will mark her 5th year on staff, and her 13th at camp over all. Ali recently graduated from the Honors Philosophy/Ethics program at the University of Western, Ontario. She plans to travel next year and then tackle law school. Last summer, Ali was one of the co-heads of Tzofiut/Teva but this summer, she decided to switch it up and bring her enthusiasm to the swim docks. Get ready for great music, hot sun and lots and lots of swimming!

Letter From All Three Kochot Section Heads !

Hey Kochot 2010!

My name is Mikey Fox and I am the Kochot section head for this summer. I am super excited about camp and cannot wait to work with the new "K-team", the assistant section heads for this summer, Dara Koplowitz and J. "Josh David" D.
I have been going to Kadimah since I was an 8 year old Gibbie, and every summer of my life that I can remember since then involves camp Kadimah in some respect. Whether spending summers in Nova Scotia, or experiencing Israel with my friends from Kadimah, the memories and friends that we make in our little nook of Nova Scotia really can, and do last a lifetime. I cannot wait for just over a month from now, when the entire camp is full of people to create another incredible summer!
Le'hitraot & see you soon,
Mikey

Hey Kochot!

This is JD. I can't believe that it is almost time for camp again! This summer is going to be an amazing one. I am so excited to be an assistant section head! Together with Mikey and Dara, I know that we will make this summer one of the greatest for you. I have been a part of the Kadimah family since 1999, and I have been lucky enough to be staff in Kochot for my last two summers at camp. Camp Kadimah has always been such a special place to me and I am looking forward to making many memories this summer with all of you.
If you can't find me on the shores of Lake William, then you can most likely find me on the shores of the Bay of Fundy in Wolfville, NS, where I go to Acadia University. I just finished up my third year at Acadia, where I am completing my Bachelor in Music and also acting as the Jewish Student Association's President. While not in Wolfville, I am home in Halifax with my family.
I hope you all enjoy the last few weeks of school and best of luck with exams if you have any. I am counting down the days!
Josh "JD" David

Last but not least ...
Hi Kochot!

This is my 10th summer at Camp Kadimah and my 3rd summer working in the Kochot section! This summer I'm mostly looking forward to organizing and running new fun and creative programs for the Kochot section, that not only will be entertaining but will also prepare Kochotnicks for their future summers in Machar. Having been a staff member in Kochot and more recently Machar, I believe I have the skills and experience to help campers with this transition to older sections while enjoying their time in the Kochot! I am so looking forward to seeing old faces around the section and meeting new staff and campers! Let the camp countdown begin!
-Dara Koplowitz

Letter From The Goshie Section Heads !

Welcome to the world of Goshrim!

We are really excited to be returning to camp this summer as the Goshrim section heads. We look forward to having a tonne of fun with all the campers. Having already been staff together, we can assure you that your kids will have nothing but fun stories to report.

Let us introduce ourselves.
Michael Cappell - I have been staff at camp for 3 years. Last summer, I was the assistant Giborim section head. The previous summers I was staff in both Gib and Gosh. I am currently studying at McGill University, but this past semester has been extra special because I have had the privilege of studying abroad in Hong Kong. While living overseas, I traveled to many different countries. While I'm having a great time abroad, I am looking forward to coming to camp and being "home" again.

Marli Stein - Hi! My name is Marli Stein, and I'm thrilled to be returning to camp this summer as one of your Goshrim Section Heads! This is my 12th summer at Camp Kadimah, and what better way to spend it than by returning to the section I first started in at camp! I am currently pursuing an Honours Specialization in Anthropology at the University of Western Ontario, and will be returning to London this year to finish up my degree. Camp is a very special place to me, and I can't wait to spend my summer playing with the Goshies!
Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!!!

Let's talk about camp this summer- it's going to be a packed one, we've got loads of fun activities and exciting excursions planned. As long as the campers come ready for adventure and laughs, we can promise a fantastic summer! Can't wait to meet all of you at camp!
